What is this Conference about?
Employability, employer engagement and enterprise are among the most important and prominent issues currently facing UK higher education. This conference will provide a unique opportunity to explore how best the GEES disciplines can address these agendas and rise to the challenge.
Participants will benefit by meeting and networking with many key players, including those from academia, GEES employers, the world of business, the HE Funding Councils, careers services and our current and former students. The conference keynote speakers will include Hugh Tollyfield, who leads HEFCE’s work in this field, and Paul Redmond (University of Liverpool) a national expert on graduate employability.
This conference will help you to:
- Enhance your students’ career prospects
- Embed employability in your GEES curricula
- Examine ways of encouraging your students to become more enterprising and creative
- Explore employer engagement, workforce development and the Leitch agenda
GEES academics, employers, policy makers, graduate recruiters, careers advisors and former and current students will have the opportunity to network and learn from each other through a mix of presentations, workshops and discussions.
