Fieldwork Education & Technology Workshop
PowerPoint Presentations from this Workshop are available from the FEET workshop webpage.
Date: Wednesday 15 May 2002
Venue: University of Leicester
The Subject Centre for Geography, Earth and Environmental Sciences (LTSN-GEES) are undertaking a national project on "Enhancing Fieldwork Quality through Pedagogic Research". As part of this programme, one team, the Fieldwork, Education and Technology Group is investigating the relationship between C&IT and fieldwork as used in the undergraduate curriculum in the GEES disciplines.
The objectives of the Fieldwork and Technology Workshop on the 15th May are to provide a forum at which delegates can display, exchange and develop ideas on the pedagogic use of C&IT in fieldwork. It will provide a guide to good practice, show tried and tested fieldwork projects as well as new and innovative ideas for the integration of technology in fieldwork. The outcome of the project will be a paper on current (and future) practices of C&IT in fieldwork and an electronic information resource available to the Geography, Earth and Environmental Sciences community.
The workshop is calling for short 10-minute presentations
that demonstrate both the use of technology with fieldwork and the educational
outcomes.
