Small tree up to 4m high. Leaves smooth and somewhat greyish. Flowers yellow, long and narrow, in small bunches. Flowers mostly from spring to autumn.
Grows in disturbed habitats, especially in rubble, building sites, old walss and fortifications. Native of South America, becoming naturalised in various Mediterranean localities. Frequent.
