• Jacquard coefficient of community similarity,

• Levin's index of niche breadth

Students will then use the results obtained to

 

• identify any zonation of vegetation

• correlate this zonation with environmental factors

• determine which species are likely to be ecological generalists/specialists

• identify differences in niche overlap patterns

• compare the two sites

• suggest other factors which may affect the observed patterns of distribution of vegetation
